Error "0x80070520 A specified logon session does not exist" when binding certificate in IIS 7 Windows Server 2008

Problem

When editing bindings on a web site to configure an SSL certificate in IIS 7, the following error occurs.

Cause

The Private Key was not made exportable from a backup file of the SSL certificate when importing to the server.

Solution

Import the backup file of the SSL certificate again and ensure you check the box "Allow this certificate to be exported".
